Old Court House Civil War Museum

The Old Court House in Wincheseter, VA was built in 1840 and replaced the original courthouse built in 1741. During the Civil War it served as both a hospital for sick and wounded soldiers and a prison. The courthouse was built to serve the citizens of Winchester and Frederick County, and did so until 1984 when the Frederick-Winchester Judicial Center opened.
