			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Get some exercise and relieve stress while practicing Pilates in the beauty of the Museum’s Glen Burnie Gardens. Led by Alicia Keen, owner of Glowing Oasis Pilates and a certified mat instructor who has been practicing Pilates for more than ten years, these 60-minute classes are suitable for individuals of all fitness levels and will consist of classic mat exercises designed to strengthen and tone the body and improve self-awareness. The class is for ages 16 and older.</p>
<p>Participants must bring their own Pilates mat (or a large beach towel) and should wear comfortable, athletic clothing.</p>
<p><em>This is a drop-in class and registration is not required.</em></p>
<p>Please arrive ten minutes early to sign in at the Gate House, located at the garden entrance. In the event of rain, classes will take place in the Museum Reception Hall.</p>
<p>MSV Members: $8 per class; all others: $10 per class.<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Join us for the 25th annual Loudoun Street Mile on Memorial Day 2012.</p>
<p>There will be a fitness walk, open men, open women, kids&#8217; mile, and a children&#8217;s 100 yd. &#8220;Tot Trot.&#8221;</p>
<p>This is a race sponsored by the Shenandoah Valley Runners. The race was started by Kathy Smart. It is now directed by Mark Stickley, owner of Runners Retreat. The finish line is at the courthouse on the mall in downtown Winchester, just 100 yards (more or less) from the store. Proceeds for the race benefit the Winchester Shelter for Abused Women, now known as the Laurel Center.</p>
<p>Prize money to top 3 overall finishers and top masters (40+). Age group awards three-deep in 5 year increments through 39 for women and 59 for men, ten year increments thereafter.</p>

<p>9:00 am   Open Women (ages 12 &amp; up)</p>
<p>9:20 am   Kid&#8217;s Mile (ages 6-11)</p>
<p>(Depending on number of runners, we may split the boys and girls and start the girls 5 minutes after the boys)</p>

<p>A special walking tour, “You Must Carry It: The Fight for Bower’s Hill,” will be offered on the 150th anniversary of the First Battle of Winchester. Led by Jonathan Noyalas, assistant professor of history and director of the Center for Civil War History at Lord Fairfax Community College in Middletown, Virginia, this 60-minute tour will offer participants the opportunity to experience a part of the MSV landscape that is not open to the public.</p>

FREE to members, $5 all others.</p>
<p>Presented by the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley and Cedar Creek and Belle Grove National Historical Park.</p>
